A Midlands law firm has landed royal recognition for its support to the wider community throughout the Coronavirus pandemic.
Wright Hassall, which is based at Olympus Avenue in Leamington Spa, has been awarded a UK Business Hero Stamp after they were nominated by the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
A UK Business Hero Stamp - which signifies those firms that have gone the extra mile during lockdown - forms part of a British Chambers of Commerce campaign to recognise the incredible work that UK businesses are doing, in the most challenging of years to support their Chamber, the local business community, alongside clients and colleagues.
During the pandemic Wright Hassall provided substantial support to the Helping Hands Community Project - a charity that helps vulnerable individuals to get back on their feet.
This included providing additional support to the charity which enabled them to expand their footprint in the town to meet increasing demand for its services.
Staff also donated food to users of Helping Hands’ services, along with cuddly rabbits and Easter eggs to Coventry children in care.
Elsewhere, Wright Hassall set up a web page called ‘furloughteering’ in a bid to connect furloughed individuals who had spare time on their hands with charities who were in urgent need of support.
Efforts were also made to help firms navigate the commercial obstacles as a result of the pandemic, including producing free guides packed full of practical business advice, along with legal issues to consider and ways to resolve them.
Sarah Perry, Managing Partner at Wright Hassall, said: “As a firm with a heritage in Leamington Spa stretching back 174 years, supporting our community is at the very heart of who we are. Recognition doesn’t come much better than in the Royal form, and it is testament to the caring culture that our teams are built upon.
“This year has been a time for communities of all kinds to support each other - which is reflected in the variety of support we have provided - and when I look back on what Wright Hassall has done to make a difference this year, it fills me with great pride.
