About Charlotte
Charlotte’s specialism is dealing with a variety of disputes relating to the validity of wills; potential claims against the estate, including claims pursuant to the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975; proprietary estoppel; and, the removal and substitution of executors.

Experience
Charlotte has experience in dealing with contentious matters at various stages, from pre-action through to mediation and Court proceedings. Recently, Charlotte has:
- Assisted on Hirachand v Hirachand, a claim that is currently before the Supreme Court concerning whether the success fee payable under a CFA the Claimant entered into with her solicitor should form part of her financial needs when assessing what award should be made under the Inheritance Act (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. Judgment is awaited.
- Secured the removal of an executor and obtained a Costs Order imposing a personal costs liability against the removed executor, allowing the remaining executor to proceed with the estate administration after a 3 year impasse.
- Successfully defended a claim for removal of an executor.
- Assisted on several proprietary estoppel claims, all with an agricultural element, up to and including trial.
- Assisted on successfully seeking a declaration against the validity of a will on the ground of testamentary capacity.
- Assisting on achieving a settlement in respect of a multi-million pound estate.
Career
Charlotte undertook her undergraduate law degree at Coventry University, during which she took a placement year as a Family Law Paralegal. Charlotte continued working as a Family Law Paralegal alongside studying her LPC at the University of Law in Birmingham.
Following completion of her studies, Charlotte commenced her training contract at Wright Hassall and qualified as a solicitor in March 2023.

Charlotte is a member of the Contentious Trusts Association and she is working towards her Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists qualification.
Interests
Outside of work, Charlotte enjoys travelling and spending time researching and planning the next destination.
