Karen is a specialist in all matters linked to the breakdown of relationships with emphasis on matrimonial finance to include advising on complex assets such as ownership of businesses, substantial pension funds, properties and landed estates and cases in which pre-marital wealth or contributions feature. For those embarking on marriage Karen offers articulate guidance on pre or post nuptial agreements and advises on cohabitee arrangements.
Private law children work is also part of Karen’s practice, and she advises on all stages of children’s disputes with drive to find child focused results.
Karen has strong technical and strategic skills to ensure matters are resolved favourably to include exploration of creative solutions whether through negotiation or litigation. With a calm and personable approach Karen is committed to excellence in service.

- Advising business owners as to how secure a valuation and manage their business interests within the context of separation;
- Advising on complex private children’s law cases to include those with safeguarding issues, implacable hostility or alienation, the need for the appointment of a children’s guardian and relocation to include international cases.
- Preparing pre and post nuptial agreements to include those for high net worth individuals.
- Succeeding in ousting parties from the family home owing to domestic abuse and securing a variety of injunctive orders for those experiencing harm from former partners or associated persons.
Career
Having spent the early part of her career at Thursfields solicitors as an associate solicitor Karen moved to Cartwright King solicitors’ Birmingham office in 2018 and became head of the family team shortly after, moving on to head the team at Wright Hassall in 2025.

Interests
Participation in many sports but especially running. Interest in travel and a love of reading when time permits. Time spent with family to include walking trips together.
