Penelope Sankey
Penelope is an associate in the corporate team advising clients in relation to a range of company law matters.
About Penelope
Penelope works with business owners, companies and shareholders, advising on a range of corporate and company law matters. Her areas of specialism include transactional work such as asset and share sales and acquisitions, company and group restructuring, and corporate governance and company law matters such as company constitutional documents and shareholders’ agreements.
“One of the fascinating things about working in corporate law is getting to see inside businesses in all sorts of sectors, and at all stages of their life cycle. I have worked with business owners and stakeholders in a wide variety of sectors, ranging from children’s nurseries and care homes to retailers, cleaning businesses, IT, equine and many others in between. Getting to know a business and understanding what makes the people who work in it tick is a key part of working with our clients and helping them achieve their aims, whether that involves helping the owners of a new start-up get a company set up and put their first shareholders’ agreement in place, advising on the restructure of an established business alongside financial and tax advisers, or assisting with the sale of a successful business. It means every day is different and there is always something new to learn!”
A wide breadth of knowledge available across the firm, with a full suite of competence across multiple levels of seniority.

- Advising on the demerger of a group operating in the UK and Malta.

Interests
Outside of work she enjoys running, swimming, tennis and cycling - when she can fit these in around spending time with her two young children! They love exploring the outdoors together as a family and their favourite holidays are trips to Cornwall to go to the beach and swim in the sea (when it isn’t too cold!).
Penelope would love to travel to Iceland to see the Northern Lights – maybe one day!
The Wright Hassall team was an excellent support in getting this deal over the line.
